The Church of Peace in Rock Island, Ill. is happy to announce that Ms. Tammy Ebensberger has been named our interim pastor will lead our worship service starting July 8th.
Tammy is a lifelong resident of Iowa – currently living in Clinton. She is married to her husband Mark; and they celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary on June 12th.
She is a mother of two sons; Andrew – a firefighter and marina staffer living in Sabula, Iowa; and Matthew – a junior in high school and still at home.
She is a 2011 Graduate of the Lay Education for Ministry and Leadership program of the Iowa Conference of the United Church of Christ. She holds BA Degree in Psychology from the University of Dubuque, along with graduate work in theology & human relations.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Iowa Conference of the UCC; member of the Advisory Council of the Eastern Iowa Association of the UCC; active member of Community Congregational UCC, Clinton for 36 years; volunteer worship leader for area long-term care facilities.
Previous employment: Church Secretary/Office Manager; Christian Education Director/Pastoral Assistant; Associate Dean of Students/Director of Career Services & Counseling; Private Rehabilitation Counselor/Placement Director; and State of Iowa Refugee Specialist/VISTA Volunteer.
In her free-time enjoyment: reading, writing, home remodeling and creative design, volunteer.
